POWER

 

Power is a type of force that can be used in a constructive way; but unfortunately some people use it in a destructive manner. We all have some type of power assigned to us; some of us are very powerful and other less powerful. People with a lot of understanding and wisdom they use their power in a creative way, and to improve human life in this planet. Those who are lacked of these factors often misused their power. Power is only effective when it has a good purpose. In conflict management, balancing of power is very important, because it gives each party a fair chance to express their views on the conflicting situation. Even if there is a leader among the parties, his or her responsibility would be to listen and observe the other parties, before he could begin to assess the conflicting situation. Once there is an understanding, and the parties and their leader start to have an agreement among themselves the conflict would also dissolve. It is not easy to manage a conflict, because as human we differ very much in our opinion, values and creeds. Therefore when that force we call power is not balanced, and is in possession of just one person, it can lead to a very dangerous situation, which is corruption.
