Networking Skills
My space and Facebook are social networking sites. They are more useful for social networkings, because your interaction with friends is based on a social status. In these sites you share links with your friends, pictures, you exchange ideas and you can even play games. In circle is an academic and professional networking site. You can interact with your peers by posting events; and you can offer your ideas on a particular subject. In Circle has a bulletin Board for Jobs posting, and a contact list for alumni who are in different fields.
LinkedIn is completely for professional networking. There is not social, but professional networking in this site. Your profile is designed in a professional manner. You can join a group and post your company in the site. LinkedIn is a good site for my career field. The two sites I joined are LinkedIn and Cambridge Who's who.
I have been a member of In Circle since last year. The C++ group is very intriguing; it deals with computer programing and Java script. In Circle is a good career Networking because you can interact with alumni who are already in your field, and they can they can help introduce you to their company.
I used LinkedIn several times as a career advice, but not Facebook. I am considering using Facebook in the future as a career advice site also. Sources reveal that a large percentage of jobs are occupied just by words of mouth, therefore social networking can be used effectively to find employment. You can post your education, your qualification, and your job experiences on your profile. You can also ask your face books friends if their companies are hiring. Deltoid is a great company for internship, and I have its link on my Facebook profile page.
I have subscribed to only one Newsletter. It is THE FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA NEWSFEED. It will help because I will have the opportunity to comment on the articles posted by the newsfeed. Reading other subscribers comments will also help my professional development.
